Community Access to Skills & Training (C.A.S.T.)

The Community Access to Skills and Training Project makes it possible for a broader range of people to access training in IT and technological skills, as well as enabling the education and training opportunities supported by IT and technology to be realised.

All students are welcome and encouraged to meet their greatest potential. In the process we hope to excite interest in new technologies and the possibilities they offer for education, training and employment.

Aims of the Project

  • To enable Parents returning to work or seeking further qualifications to gain access to job related training.
  • To enable community groups - the leaders of the groups and the groups themselves to maximise the potential of ICT for job creation and social cohesion.
  • To enable the unemployed - those seeking an initial development of skills , and knowledge required to re-enter the labour market to gain access to ICT training.
  • To enable employed people requiring information about further training, development of skills, knowledge and qualifications to gain access to such information.
  • To enhance access and thus social cohesion between the community and voluntary sector organisations.
