Qualification
GCSE AQA
You will study Modern World History between 1900 and 1990. The course looks at conflict and co-operation between countries in the 20th Century and how countries dealt with their own problems.
You will cover the following topics:
- The First and Second World Wars (their origins, the changing nature of war and civilian experience)
- Germany between 1918 and 1939 (including the rise of Hitler and his control over Germany)
- The USA between 1919 and 1941.
Curriculum
Two hours per week
Course Delivery
Classroom based lessons will involve pupils in group work, discussions, role plays, research and presentations. There will also be opportunities for study visits.
Assessment Method
All pupils will be examined at the end of the course by two written papers (75%).
Pupils will have a choice of a third written paper or two coursework assignments (25%).
