Qualification

GCSE (AQA)

Students will study the topics of Number, Algebra, Shape and Space, Measure and Handling Data.

Curriculum

Three hours lesson time per week. .

Course Delivery

Lessons will include whole class teaching and discussion, individual and small group work, practical activities and investigational work. There will be opportunities to make use of ICT to enhance your work.

Assessment Method

Assessment of GCSE Mathematics is of a modular format.

There is no longer an element of coursework. The course is 100% written examination over the three modules. Modules 1 and 3 are taken at Spring, Summer or Winter assessment sessions. Module 5 is a terminal written assessment.

Examination entry will be at Foundation or Higher level on the recommendation of the teachers following discussion with the students.
