Qualification
OCR - A / AS level
Students take six modules for 'A' level or three modules for 'AS' level.
They will cover topics in Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Discrete Maths.
Course Length
Full 'A' level two years. 'AS' level normally one year.
Entry Requirements
Usually students would be expected to have gained a grade B or above at GCSE
Course Delivery
The course involves a variety of teaching methods: mainly formal teaching but also investigative work, problem solving and class discussions..
Assessment Method
Each module will be assessed by an end of module test.
These can be taken in January or June Assessment sessions and there are opportunities to resit.
Progression from the course
AS/A level Further Mathematics is highly regarded and as such is a valuable qualification for a wide variety of Higher Education courses.
It can lead to careers in finance, computing, engineering and science to name but a few.
